Leeds has created 52,000 jobs and over 2,500 businesses over the past decade (98-08), with notable growth in regenerative health and biosciences, as well as the financial and related business services sector, which employed more than 122,000 people in nearly 10,000 businesses and which accounted for 39% of the city’s GVA in 2007.
