Liverpool

Liverpool is home to 13,800 businesses, employing 226,000 people. It is the economic, knowledge, transport and cultural centre of a wider City Region area of almost 2 million people, 70,000 businesses and 1 million jobs. Liverpool benefited from significant investment and visitor
spending during the city’s Capital of Culture year (£1.6 billion) and is expected to grow further during the next decade.

Over the last decade, employment in Liverpool increased more quickly than the national average (by 12.4% (25,140 jobs), compared to the national rate of 9.5% and the North West rate of 7.7%).
