The Core Cities Group represents a big idea – making our cities more competitive. At its centre is a small organisation.
Our central unit is two people based in Manchester, a Director and Policy Officer, keeping the work low cost and high impact. The strategic direction of the group is set by the elected Leaders of the city authorities, at regular meetings including the Chief Executives.
Dedicated Policy Advisers and senior expert practitioners from the cities work to implement the strategic priorities of the group, meaning we are able to draw a wide range of experience and expertise at the highest levels, delivering high quality professional output, new thinking and policy based on evidence of what does and does not work.
