Objectives
To strengthen and promote the distinctive role of the Core Cities as drivers of regional and national economic growth.
To enhance the European and international competitiveness of the Core Cities.
To contribute to the development of national and European urban and economic policy as it affects Core Cities and the regions they serve.
To ensure all citizens in Core City Regions, particularly those living in deprived communities, benefit from regional and national economic growth.
To ensure that citizens, communities and businesses in Core Cities and their regions benefit from a high quality and sustainable environment.
To ensure that the wider regional areas are involved with, and benefit from, the work progressed by Core Cities.
How
Working in partnership with Government and other stakeholders to deliver shared objectives;
Working together to influence policy and resource decisions in furtherance of the Core Cities objectives;
Lobbying for the interests of Core Cities, their regions and the communities they serve through partnership and collaboration;
Promoting and ensuring social inclusion and community cohesion;
Promoting collaboration between Core Cities and their regions to meet common goals, share information and best practice and benefit from innovation;
Ensuring collaboration on an intra-regional basis in order to maximise contributions to, and wider ownership of, the work of Core Cities.
