The Core Cities Group have proposed an amendment (found here) to the Localism Bill which will open a route to greater devolution to drive economic prosperity and growth across England for the long term, through designated ‘Urban Economic Growth Areas’.
This amendment will also support the long-term implementation of the Local Government Resource Review and provide a dynamic future role for Local Enterprise Partnerships, Combined Authorities and other robust governance structures.
We are asking our partner organisations and those with a wider interest to sign up to support this amendment, which will most likely be tabled at the Lords Committee stage.
