As the National Transport Strategy is expected to undergo a full review, delegates will discuss the progress of the Scottish Government in meeting its stated objectives of improved connectivity both within Scotland and with global markets, reducing emissions from transportation and delivering a range of affordable, accessible transport options to the people of Scotland. It also takes place in the context of the UK’s vote to leave the European Union with questions on the possible impact on the direction of the review, particularly with regard to issues surrounding the future funding of transport infrastructure. It will bring together stakeholders from public transport providers, freight operators, construction firms, local authorities, export driven businesses, as well as consumer and environmental groups and other stakeholders.
