Economic

Businesses choose Glasgow for many reasons. Primary reasons include the quality and loyalty of the flexible and qualified workforce, the cosmopolitan feel of a large city, great access and digital connectivity, cost-effective office space, proximity to market and customers, as well as the ease of doing business. With one of the youngest populations in Scotland and 53.9% educated to degree level, finding and retaining talented staff is relatively easy.

As Scotland’s most populated city and the United Kingdom’s fourth, Glasgow offers vast potential for businesses to tap into, including access to an abundance of talent, collaborative networks, and flourishing tech and creative communities. According to Tech Nation, the city is among the top three fastest-growing tech investment hubs in the UK.

The city has a strong track record of joint work and the ability to deliver investments of scale with a clear vision for action – and the partnership with business and academia to make it happen.

Glasgow has it's own investment strategy, outlining transformative plans to take the city into the next decade.
